Which Telegram links work
Only links to one post in a public channel work. A public channel has a name that anyone can find, and its posts can be seen without joining. The link looks like this:
t.me/channelname/613: the channel name, then the number of the postt.me/s/channelname/613(the web preview) andtelegram.me/channelname/613work too
These links do not work:
- A channel link without a post number, like
t.me/channelname. Vidsaver says it found no video at this link. Open the post and copy the link of that post. - Invite links like
t.me/+AbCd…, and private channel links liket.me/c/123…/45.
The Telegram file you get
- One MP4 file with picture and sound. Telegram gives no size name for it, so the button says Video.
- Our test video was 480p, 61 seconds long, and about 5.5 MB.
- The file may open and play in a new tab. Then use Save video as the note under the button says.
Posts with several videos
The link of a post with several videos gives you the first video. Each video in the post has its own number. Add 1 to the number in the link to get the next video. For example, if /125279 gives the first video, /125280 gives the second.
What does not work
- Private chats and groups. Their messages are only for members. Vidsaver does not log in to Telegram.
- Private channels. You must join them to see the posts.
- Posts without a video, and posts that were deleted.

How do I download a Telegram video by link?
Copy the link of the post in the channel. It looks like t.me/channelname/123. Paste it in the box above and press Get video.
Do I need to join the channel or have a Telegram account?
No. For a public channel, you need no account and you do not need to join it.
Can I download videos from a private Telegram channel or group?
No. Only members can see these posts, and Vidsaver is not a member. A post link that starts with t.me/c/ is from a private channel.
Do I need a bot to download Telegram videos?
No. Vidsaver is a web page, not a bot. Paste the post link here, in any browser.

Which Telegram videos work?
Videos in posts of public channels (t.me/channel/123) work. Private chats, groups and private channels do not.
Is there a watermark?
Vidsaver adds none. It does not edit the video. You get the file as Telegram serves it.
Which quality do I get?
Vidsaver lists every quality Telegram offers for the video, best first.
Why does it say the video is not public?
Telegram shows some videos only to logged-in users. Vidsaver can only get public videos.
Does Vidsaver keep the video or my link?
No. We do not store videos. We do not keep the links you paste. See the privacy policy.
Can I download any video?
Save only your own videos, or videos you have the right to save. Respect the creator's copyright and the terms.
Which other sites work?
Facebook, Instagram, X (Twitter), Pinterest, LinkedIn, Bluesky, Streamable, Snapchat, Twitch clips, Weibo, Loom. YouTube and TikTok do not work.
