Copy this line, paste it in a new tab of the browser where you are logged in to Facebook, and press Enter.

On the source page press Ctrl+A then Ctrl+C (on Mac ⌘). On a phone: press and hold, Select all, Copy.

Faster on a computer

Drag this button to your bookmarks bar once:

Copy for Vidsaver

Then open a Facebook video and click the bookmark. It copies the page and brings you back here. Paste it in the box in step 3.

The page source is used only to find the video link, then it is thrown away. Public video? Use the Facebook video downloader. New to this? Read the step-by-step guide.

Questions about private Facebook videos

Why can I not just paste the link?

Facebook shows a private video only to accounts that may watch it. A link alone does not prove that, so Vidsaver cannot open it. Your browser can. Steps 2 and 3 copy what your browser sees.

Do I need an app or a Chrome extension?

No. Follow the steps above in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. There is nothing to install. On a computer, the bookmark button is the fastest way.

Is there a watermark?

Vidsaver adds none. It does not edit the video. You get the file that Facebook sends to your browser.

Which quality do I get? Is it MP4?

You get an MP4 file, in HD when Facebook has HD, and in SD if not.

Does it work on iPhone and Android?

On Android, use Chrome. On iPhone, Safari cannot show the page source, so use a computer.

Is my Facebook account safe?

Vidsaver never asks for your password. The page text is used once to find the video link, then thrown away.

It says no video was found. What now?

Open the video on its own page, logged in to the account that can watch it. Then copy the whole page source (select all, then copy) and paste it in step 3.
