Which Facebook links work
Copy the link of one public video or reel. These link forms work:

Short fb.watch/… links did not work in our tests: Facebook asks for a login first. Open the link in your browser, then copy the address of the video page.
Links to a post, such as facebook.com/name/posts/…, failed in our tests, in pages and in groups. Tap the video in the post so that it opens alone. Then copy that link.
What you get
- Most videos give two buttons: Download HD and Download SD. HD is the sharper file. SD is a smaller file, good for mobile data.
- HD is the larger of the two files Facebook keeps, not always 1080p. In our tests, HD was 1080 × 1080 for a square video, 720 × 1280 for a tall video and 480 × 848 for a reel. SD was 360 to 400 pixels wide.
- Both files are MP4 with the sound in them. If a reel has no sound on Facebook, the file has no sound either.
- Some HD files use a newer video format. If the HD file does not play on an old phone or computer, take SD.
- The download link has an end time in it. In our tests, links ended 33 to 108 hours after we pressed Get video, so about 1 to 4 days. If a button stops working, paste the video link again.
What does not work
- Private videos. Friends-only videos, videos in private groups, and videos that Facebook shows only to logged-in users. You see "This video is not public, or it was removed. If you can watch it while logged in, use the private video tool." Use the private video downloader for these.
- Stories. You see "We found no video at this link. Open the post, copy the link of the video itself, and try again."

Facebook questions
Can I save Facebook reels?
Yes. In the Facebook app, tap Share on the reel, then Copy link. Paste the link here. You get MP4 files, often HD and SD. If the reel has sound on Facebook, the file has it too.
Can I get Facebook videos in 1080p?
Only if Facebook keeps the video in 1080p. Take the HD button: it is the sharper file that Facebook has. Vidsaver cannot make a video sharper than the original.
How do I save Facebook videos on a PC or laptop?
Open the video on facebook.com and copy the address from the browser bar. Paste it here in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. The file goes to your Downloads folder. You install nothing.
Do I need an app on Android?
No. Open vidsaver.net in Chrome on your phone, paste the link and press Get video. Chrome saves the file like any other download.
Do I need a Facebook account?
No, not for public videos. You do not log in here, and we never ask for your Facebook password.
Can I save only the sound as MP3?
No. Vidsaver saves the video with its sound, as one MP4 file. It does not make MP3 files.

Is there a watermark?

Why does it say the video is not public?
Many Facebook videos are only for friends or group members. Vidsaver cannot see them from a link. Use the private video downloader: it works with any video you can watch while logged in.
Does Vidsaver keep the video or my link?

Can I download any video?
Save only your own videos, or videos you have the right to save. Respect the creator's copyright and the terms.
